THE "SOLOS" TRAILER IS HERE!

The trailer for new Amazon Prime series, SOLOS, is here! The show features a stellar cast including Helen Mirren and Morgan Freeman, and was cut by both echo Editors Luke Dunkley and Simon Smith. The series drops on Amazon on the 21st of May.

"THE THIRD DAY" IS OUT TODAY IN THE UK!

New series THE THIRD DAY starts tonight at 9pm on Sky Atlantic! The show, which premiered in the US last night, stars Jude Law and Naomi Harris. Episodes 2 + 3 were cut by Editors Simon Smith and Dan Roberts respectively for Director Marc Munden and eps 4, 5 + 6 were shot by David Chizallet, AFC and cut by Luke Dunkley for Director Philippa Lowthorpe.

THE THIRD DAY is set to be released on Sky and HBO in May and if the trailer is anything to go by we’re excited! EDINBURGH TV AWARDS NOMINEES!

The Edinburgh TV Awards have announced this year’s nominations and we are please to say that 4 client shows are shortlisted! Congratulations to our clients for their work on Best UK Drama nominees PATRICK MELROSE, editors Tim Murrell, Luke Dunkley, Dan Roberts and Simon Smith; BLACK MIRROR: BANDERSNATCH, Hair + Make-up Design by Kirstin Chalmers and BODYGUARD, Hair + Make-Up Design by My Alehammar. The Awards are announced during the TV Festival in Ediburgh from 21st - 23rd August.

BAFTA TELEVISION AWARDS!

The winners of the 2019 BAFTA Television Awards were announced last night and we are thrilled that PATRICK MELROSE won Best Mini-Series, congrats to the all echo editing team of Tim Murrell, Luke Dunkley, Dan Roberts and Simon Smith; and SALLY4EVER picked up the award for Best Scripted Comedy which features Costume Design by echo’s Emma Fryer!

LUKE DUNKLEY IS NOMINATED FOR A SPIRIT AWARD!

Congratulations to echo’s Luke Dunkley who has been nominated for and Film Independent Spirit Award for Best Editing on AMERICAN ANIMALS. Directed by Bart Layton, Luke co-edited the film with Nick Fenton, Chris Gill and Julian Hart whom he shares the nomination with. Shout out also goes to echo's Andy Worboys who was also part of the editorial team. The award ceremony takes place on 23rd February in Santa Monica.

Huge congratulations go to echo’s Guy Speranza for his Best Costume Design nomination at this year BIFAs for his work on STAN & OLLIE!

Our congrats also go to our clients who worked on the Best Film nominees; Costume Designer Jo Thompson and Production Designer Laura Ellis Cricks for BEAST, Luke Dunkley and Andy Worboys who co-edited AMERICAN ANIMALS and THE FAVOURITE with additional editing by Sam Sneade.

Written and directed by Bart Layton, the Sundance nominated AMERICAN ANIMALS, is released in UK cinemas today. Starring Barry Keoghan, this witty yet gripping feature, follows four young men who plan to pull off one of the most audacious heists in US history. Co-edited by our brilliant client Luke Dunkley with additional editing by new echo client Andy Worboys. It is a must see!

"AMERICAN ANIMALS" IS RELEASED IN THE US TODAY!

After receiving rave reviews at the Sundance Film Festival earlier in the year, AMERICAN ANIMALS, co-edited by Luke Dunkley, is released today in the US.  Directed by Bart Layton following on from his BAFTA and BIFA winning THE IMPOSTER, the compelling and brilliant new narrative feature debut blurs the lines between fact and fiction in it's tale of heist that took place in the Special Collections area of Kentucky’s Transylvania University's library.   Starring Barry Keoghan as Spencer Rheinhard, the film was produced by Katherine Butler, Derrin Schlesinger, Dimitri Dogani, Poppy Dixon and Mary Jane Skalski and will see a UK release later in the year.

Editor Luke Dunkley will work alongside regular collaborator, director Marc Munden, on a new adaption of Frances Hodgson Burnett‘s children's classic, THE SECRET GARDEN.  Produced by David Heyman and Rosie Alison for Heyday Films and StudioCanal, the film has been penned by Jack Thorne and will star Colin Firth and Julie Walters.

EDITING IS UNDERWAY ON "MELROSE"

Editors Dan Roberts and Luke Dunkley are in full swing on PATRICK MELROSE, directed by Edward Berger starring Benedict Cumberbatch.  The new 5 part series for Sky Atlantic and Showtime is based on the of novels by Edward St. Aubyn following the harrowing life of Patrick Melrose. Jumping from his youth in the South of France in the 1960s to New York in the 80s and finally London in the 2000s, the story follows his traumatic childhood, his struggles with substance abuse and eventual road to recovery.  Dan Roberts is co-cutting episode 3 and Luke Dunkley is co-cutting episodes 2 and 4.

SUNDANCE ANNOUNCES LINE UP!

Sundance Film Festival has released the line up with several ECHO appearances. Claire McCarthy's twist on Hamlet, OPHELIA, cut by Luke Dunkley and starring Daisy Ridley, Naomi Watts and Clive Owen is in the "Premieres" programme. Luke has also co-edited Bart Layton's art heist story, AMERICAN ANIMALS, which will screen in the "US Dramatic Competition". Rungano Nyoni's acclaimed I AM NOT A WITCH, lensed by David Gallego with art direction by Malin Lindholm and costumes by Holly Rebecca, will screen in the "Spotlight" programme, along with director Michael Pearce's debut feature BEAST about a murder accusation in a small British island community, with production design helmed by Laura Ellis Cricks.

Congratulations to all ECHO clients who have films selected in this year’s London Film Festival!  Screening in the First Feature Competition are: APOSTASY, directed by Daniel Kokotajlo and cut by Napoleon Stratogiannakis; BEAST, directed by Michael Pearce with production design by Laura Ellis Cricks; I AM NOT A WITCH, directed by Rungano Nyoni, with cinematography by David Gallego, ADFC, costume design by Holly Rebecca, and art direction by Malin Lindholm. In the Documentary Competition: Jinx Godfrey for her consulting work on KINGDOM OF US, directed by Lucy Cohen.  Other films screening at the festival include: DARK RIVER, directed by Clio Barnard and co-cut by Luke Dunkley; GOOD TIME, directed by Josh and Benny Safdie and lensed by Sean Price Williams; THE PARTY, directed by Sally Potter with costume design by Jane Petrie; AAMIR, directed by Vika Evdokimenko and edited by Matteo Bini; FAMILY HAPPINESS, directed by Alice Englert with cinematography by Lachlan Milne, ACS; OKSIJAN, directed by Edward Watts and lensed by Michael Paleodimos; ROBOT AND SCARECROW, directed by Kibwe Tavares and designed by Laura Ellis Cricks.  The festival will take place from 4th- 15th October.
