"EVERYBODY'S TALKING ABOUT JAMIE" PREMIERES AT EDINBURGH INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL TODAY!

Jonathan Butterell’s EVERYBODY’S TALKING ABOUT JAMIE premieres at Edinburgh International Film Festival today! The film is based on the hit musical of the same name and stars Max Harwood as Jamie. We are excited to see our clients work, look out for costumes designed by Guy Speranza and Editing by Mark Everson. The film gets it’s official release on Amazon Prime on 17th September.

MORE FILMS ADDED TO THE 2019 TIFF LINEUP!

Further additions to the 2019 Toronto Film Festival have been announced, including A WHITE WHITE DAY (pictured) directed by Hlynur Pálmason and shot by Maria von Hausswolff; J-P Valkeapää’s DOGS DON’T WEAR PANTS edited by echo’s new client Mervi Junkkonen and Dan Friedkin’s LYREBIRD with Costume Design by Guy Speranza.

The final lineup will be revealed on 20th August before the festival begins on 5th September.

"EVERYBODY’S TALKING ABOUT JAMIE" STARTS SHOOTING!

Warp Film’s EVERYBODY’S TALKING ABOUT JAMIE, based on the hit West End musical, started to shoot this week! Echo’s Costume Designer, Guy Speranza, and Editor, Mark Everson, are both on board. The film is being directed by Jonathan Butterell and stars Richard E. Grant, Sharon Horgan and Sarah Lancashire.

COSTUME DESIGNER, GUY SPERANZA WRAPS ON "DEVS"!

Alex Garland’s new TV series, DEVS, wraps this week with echo’s Costume Designer, Guy Speranza having designed the whole series. The cast includes Karl Glusman, Nick Offerman and Sonoya Mizuno (pictured here rehearsing). We are looking forward to seeing the finished show!

BAFTA NOMINATIONS ANNOUNCED!

BAFTA NOMINATIONS ANNOUNCED!

This year’s BAFTA nominations have been announced and we are very pleased to congratulate Production Designer Laura Ellis Cricks and Costume Designer Jo Thompson for their work on Michael Pearce’s BEAST which has been nominated for Outstanding British Film and Outstanding Debut; Guy Speranza for his costume design on Jon S. Baird’s STAN & OLLIE which is also nominated for Outstanding British Film; Editor Napoleon Stratogiannakis for his work of APOSTASY which has a nod for Outstanding Debut for Director Dan Kokotajlo; and last but not least Sam Sneade who was Additional Editor on THE FAVOURITE which is nominated for Best Film along with 10 other awards. Congratulations!! The award ceremony will take place in London on the 10th of February.

"STAN & OLLIE" IS OUT IN THE US TODAY!

Jon S. Baird’s STAN & OLLIE is out in US cinemas today! Guy Speranza, echo’s brilliant Costume Designer, was at the helm to make sure Laurel and Hardy’s (Steve Coogan and John C. Reilly) iconic outfits were perfect. The film is a biographical tale of the comedy duo when they took on a demanding tour in post-war Britain. Don’t worry if you’re not in the US, the movie will be coming to UK cinemas on 11th January.

“STAN AND OLLIE”: ECHO FESTIVAL FOCUS

STAN AND OLLIE is the Closing Night Gala of this year’s London Film Fest! Steve Coogan and John C. Reilly star as the most iconic Hollywood comedy duo. Directed by Jon S. Baird and produced by Entertainment One and BBC, the film portrays the life long relationship of Laurel and Hardy with fabulous Costume Design by echo’s Guy Speranza. Until next year LFF - it’s been great!!

COSTUME DESIGNER GUY SPERANZA BEGINS SHOOT ON ALEX GARLAND'S "DEVS"!

DEVS, the new 8 part series directed by Alex Garland (pictured with Alicia Vikander in Ex Machina) has started shooting this week. The thriller, produced by DNA Films and FX productions, follows a computer engineer who suspects that a secretive department in her company is behind the disappearance of her boyfriend. Echo's Guy Speranza is on board to design the costumes and Nick Offerman and Zach Grenier star.

BAFTA NOMINATIONS OUT!

Echo congratulates Costume Designer Holly RebeccaDirector of Photography David Gallego, ADFC and Art Director Malin Lindholm for their work on I AM NOT A WITCH as well as Costume Designer Guy Speranza for JAWBONE and Consulting Editor Jinx Godfrey on KINGDOM OF US, all nominated for Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer.  GOD'S OWN COUNTRY has also been nominated for Outstanding British Film, with hair and make-up design by Bean EllisPADDINGTON 2, edited by Mark Everson, has been nominated for both Best Adapted Screenplay and Outstanding British Film and AAMIR, co-edited by Matteo Bini has been nominated for Best British Short Film.  The 2018 BAFTA Ceremony takes place on February 18th.

A huge congratulations to our clients and films with BIFA nominations! I AM NOT A WITCH was nominated for 12 awards, including Best British Independent Film, Best Costume Design for Holly Rebecca, and Best Cinematography for our DoP David Gallego, ADFCJAWBONE, featuring Costume Design by Guy Speranza, received 7 nominations, and GOD'S OWN COUNTRY, featuring Hair and Make Up by Bean Ellis, who will be joining ECHO at the end of this month, received 11 nominations, including Best British Independent Film. Editor Jinx Godfrey cut KINGDOM OF US, which received a Best Documentary nomination. The British Independent Film Awards will be on Sunday December 10th.

BIFA ANNOUNCES LONGLISTS

Congratulations to the films selected on the BIFA longlists today! I AM NOT A WITCH, directed and written by Rungano Nyoni, appeared in three categories including the Douglas Hickox Award for Debut Director, Best Debut Screenwriter, and Breakthrough Producer for the film's producer Emily Morgan. Shot by David Gallego, ADFC, the film features costume design by Holly Rebecca, and art direction by Malin Lindholm. JAWBONE directed by Thomas Napper and written by Johnny Harris featuring costume design by Guy Speranza has also been listed for the Douglas Hickox Award and Best Debut Screenwriter.  Writer and director Francis Lee is listed in both directing and screenwriting categories for GOD'S OWN COUNTRY, as were the film's producers Jack Tarling and Manon Ardisson in the Breakthrough Producer category. The film features hair and make up design by Bean Ellis, whom we are thrilled to announce will join the ECHO family on November 24th. CITY OF TINY LIGHTS, lensed by Director of Photography, Felix Wiedemann, BSC was listed for Most Promising Newcomer for actress Hannah Rae.
