LONDON FILM FESTIVAL LINEUP 2021!

We are really excited after seeing the official 2021 London Film Festival Lineup! Big Congratulations to our clients with projects screening in this years fest.

This years lineup includes TRUE THINGS, designed by Production Designer Andy Drummond (which will screen in the Official Competition); SHE WILL (pictured) with Production Design by Laura Ellis Cricks; A BANQUET, featuring Hair + Make-Up Design by Kat Morgan; EAR FOR EYE with Hair + Make-Up Design by Nora Robertson; and short film FOR LOVE, featuring Costume Design by Buki Ebiesuwa (which is in the Official Short Film Competition).

London Film Festival 2021 runs from 6th - 17th October.

Coming into the final weekend of LFF 2020 and LIMBO premieres today! Directed by Ben Sharrock, and already widely acclaimed after being selected for both Cannes and Toronto Film Festivals, the film was shot by echo’s DoP Nick Cooke, with Production Design by Andy Drummond, Costume Design by Holly Rebecca and Eve Doherty as Assistant Editor.

DELIA DERBYSHIRE: THE MYTHS AND LEGENDARY TAPES premieres at London Film Festival today! Caroline Catz’s documentary is more than a biopic, the film combines archival footage and Delia’s music with dramatisations that feed off the original material. Costumes for the dramatisations were designed by Jo Thompson and Hair + Make-Up Deisgner My Alehammar worked on the original teaser of the film.

Nearly a week into this year’s London Film Festival and lots of great films still to see. Both Short Films SHAGBANDS and AN EVERYDAY ACT are still available to watch on the BFI Player. SHAGBANDS is shot by echo DoP Rachel Clark and AN EVERYDAY ACT lensed by echo DoP Nick Cooke and cut by Editor Andonis Trattos.

THE BFI LONDON FILM FESTIVAL 2020 LINEUP IS ANNOUNCED!

This years London Film Festival lineup has been announced and we are excited to see the following client projects in the selection: Bassam Tariq’s MOGUL MOWGL which features Hair + Make Up Design by Bean Ellis and Additional Photography by Michael Paleodimos; Lena Dunham’s series INDUSTRY which Bean also designed; LIMBO, directed by Ben Sharrock, shot by DoP Nick Cooke, Production Design by Andy Drummond, Costume Design by Holly Rebecca and Eve Doherty as First Assistant Editor; Cathy Brady’s WILDFIRE cut by Editor Matteo Bini; Caroline Catz’ DELIA DERBYSHIRE: THE MYTHS AND LEGENDARY TAPES, costume design by Jo Thompson and Hair + Make Up for the teaser by My Alehammar; short film AN EVERYDAY ACT also shot by DoP Nick Cooke and cut by Editor Andonis Trattos; and Luna Carmoon’s SHAGBANDS lensed by DoP Rachel Clark.

This years LFF takes places between 7th - 18th of October with some in person screenings but with a largely online screenings.

Ruth Paxton’s short film, BE STILL MY BEATING HEART, premieres at London Film Festival today! Designed by Alexandra Toomey, it will feature in the “When You Think You Know How It Ends” section of the festival.

After doing the festival rounds, including London, Toronto and Camerimage, David Lowery’s THE OLD MAN & THE GUN is released in UK cinemas today! The final silver screen performance by Robert Redford has been praised by critics and it is beautifully shot by echo’s DoP Joe Anderson.

For Meyhem band’s front man black metal was not just about music. It was about creating chaos. It was about creating suffering. Watch Jonas Åkerlund’s portrayal of the bloody rise of satanic metal in 90’s Norway, with Costumes by Susie Coulthard and Hair and Make-Up by Loz Schiavo, premiering tonight in the UK at LFF.

“THE OLD MAN AND THE GUN”: ECHO FESTIVAL FOCUS

THE OLD MAN AND THE GUN is having its European premiere at LFF tonight! Directed by David Lowery and shot by echo’s Joe Anderson, the film sees Robert Redford (soon to be retired) playing Forrest Tucker, the infamous criminal who escaped from San Quentin State Prison with a self-built kayak and committed his last bank robbery at the age of seventy-nine. Sissy Spacek and Casey Affleck star in the picture alongside Redford for a nostalgic dip into classic American independent cinema.

Ben Wheatley’s new film HAPPY NEW YEAR, COLIN BURSTEAD premieres tonight! With Costume Design by echo’s Emma Fryer and Hair and Make Up Design by Emma Scott, the film is part of LFF’s Official Competition and stars Neil Maskell, Sam Riley, Joe Cole, Charles Dance, Hayley Squires and more. The film will then air on BBC this Christmas.

The latest film from 'AINT THEM BODIES SAINTS and A GHOST STORY director, David Lowery is taking the 2018 film festivals by storm! Based on a true story, THE OLD MAN & THE GUN follows Forrest Tucker, an unremorseful career criminal in his quest to live life on his own terms. The star studded cast boasts Robert Redford (in his final role before retiring), Sissy Spacek, Danny Glover and Tom Waits. Lensed by new echo DoP, Joe Anderson, the film premieres at Toronto Film Festival today after having it's world premiere at Telluride Film Festival.  If you aren't able to attend either festival, then you can see the film in competition at this year's London Film Festival in October.

"THE FAVOURITE" WINS GRAND JURY PRIZE AT VENICE!

THE FAVOURITE, the latest film from Academy Award nominated director, Yorgos Lanthimos, has won the Grand Jury Prize at this year's Venice along with Olivia Colman winning the Best Actress Volpi Cup.

With additional editing by echo's Sam Sneade and starring Rachel Weisz, Emma Stone and Olivia Colman, the film was also part of the selection for New York and Telluride Film Festivals and is also part of the London Film Festival in October.

After huge success at festivals this year already including winning the Un Certain Regard Award at Cannes Film Festival, Ali Abbasi's BORDER will also appear at this year's TIFF, Telluride and the London Film Festival. Shot by the incredibly talented, Variety's "Cinematographer To Watch", echo's Nadim Carlsen, don’t let anyone spoil the plot before going to see it! This is one not to be missed!

BIFA 2017 NOMINATIONS ANNOUNCED

A huge congratulations to our clients and films with BIFA nominations! I AM NOT A WITCH was nominated for 12 awards, including Best British Independent Film, Best Costume Design for Holly Rebecca, and Best Cinematography for our DoP David Gallego, ADFCJAWBONE, featuring Costume Design by Guy Speranza, received 7 nominations, and GOD'S OWN COUNTRY, featuring Hair and Make Up by Bean Ellis, who will be joining ECHO at the end of this month, received 11 nominations, including Best British Independent Film. Editor Jinx Godfrey cut KINGDOM OF US, which received a Best Documentary nomination. The British Independent Film Awards will be on Sunday December 10th.

Congratulations to all ECHO clients who have films in this year's Camerimage International Film Festival! Screening in the Director's Debuts Competition is BORG/MCENROE directed by Janus Metz, and lensed by Niels Thastum, who has been nominated in the Music Videos Competition with Alt-J's IN COLD BLOOD, directed by Casper Balslev. Screening in the European Panorama section is Rungano Nyoni's I AM NOT A WITCH, with cinematography by David Gallego, ADFC (a film which features an ECHO collaboration with Holly Rebecca helming costume direction, and Malin Lindholm on art direction).

BIFA ANNOUNCES LONGLISTS

Congratulations to the films selected on the BIFA longlists today! I AM NOT A WITCH, directed and written by Rungano Nyoni, appeared in three categories including the Douglas Hickox Award for Debut Director, Best Debut Screenwriter, and Breakthrough Producer for the film's producer Emily Morgan. Shot by David Gallego, ADFC, the film features costume design by Holly Rebecca, and art direction by Malin Lindholm. JAWBONE directed by Thomas Napper and written by Johnny Harris featuring costume design by Guy Speranza has also been listed for the Douglas Hickox Award and Best Debut Screenwriter.  Writer and director Francis Lee is listed in both directing and screenwriting categories for GOD'S OWN COUNTRY, as were the film's producers Jack Tarling and Manon Ardisson in the Breakthrough Producer category. The film features hair and make up design by Bean Ellis, whom we are thrilled to announce will join the ECHO family on November 24th. CITY OF TINY LIGHTS, lensed by Director of Photography, Felix Wiedemann, BSC was listed for Most Promising Newcomer for actress Hannah Rae.
