BRING THEM DOWN' HAS UK PREMIERE AT LONDON FILM FESTIVAL TODAY!

Christopher Andrew’s BRING THEM DOWN will be screening its UK premiere at London Film Festival today!

Supported by BFI, Screen Ireland, Tailored Films, MUBI and Stray Bear, the thriller drama stars Barry Keoghan and Christopher Abbott with Cinematography by echo’s Nick Cooke and Production Design by Fletcher Jarvis.

THE BFI LONDON FILM FESTIVAL 2020 LINEUP IS ANNOUNCED!

This years London Film Festival lineup has been announced and we are excited to see the following client projects in the selection: Bassam Tariq’s MOGUL MOWGL which features Hair + Make Up Design by Bean Ellis and Additional Photography by Michael Paleodimos; Lena Dunham’s series INDUSTRY which Bean also designed; LIMBO, directed by Ben Sharrock, shot by DoP Nick Cooke, Production Design by Andy Drummond, Costume Design by Holly Rebecca and Eve Doherty as First Assistant Editor; Cathy Brady’s WILDFIRE cut by Editor Matteo Bini; Caroline Catz’ DELIA DERBYSHIRE: THE MYTHS AND LEGENDARY TAPES, costume design by Jo Thompson and Hair + Make Up for the teaser by My Alehammar; short film AN EVERYDAY ACT also shot by DoP Nick Cooke and cut by Editor Andonis Trattos; and Luna Carmoon’s SHAGBANDS lensed by DoP Rachel Clark.

This years LFF takes places between 7th - 18th of October with some in person screenings but with a largely online screenings.

Camerimage Film Festival starts today and David Lowery’s THE OLD MAN & THE GUN will open the festival. Shot by echo’s Joe Anderson, Robert Redford’s final acting role before retirement was at Telluride and in official competition at both Toronto and London Film Festivals this year.

Martin Skovbjerg’s directorial debut, STICKS AND STONES, is showing tonight at LFF! Exploring the darkest corners of extreme masculinity, the film follows Simon and his family moving to the suburbs where he will find a friend who challenges him into more and more transgressive actions. David Gallego, ADFC lensed the film with Snowglobe Films producing.

“THE OLD MAN AND THE GUN”: ECHO FESTIVAL FOCUS

THE OLD MAN AND THE GUN is having its European premiere at LFF tonight! Directed by David Lowery and shot by echo’s Joe Anderson, the film sees Robert Redford (soon to be retired) playing Forrest Tucker, the infamous criminal who escaped from San Quentin State Prison with a self-built kayak and committed his last bank robbery at the age of seventy-nine. Sissy Spacek and Casey Affleck star in the picture alongside Redford for a nostalgic dip into classic American independent cinema.

Ben Wheatley’s new film HAPPY NEW YEAR, COLIN BURSTEAD premieres tonight! With Costume Design by echo’s Emma Fryer and Hair and Make Up Design by Emma Scott, the film is part of LFF’s Official Competition and stars Neil Maskell, Sam Riley, Joe Cole, Charles Dance, Hayley Squires and more. The film will then air on BBC this Christmas.

Peter Strickland’s IN FABRIC is showing at TIFF’s Midnight Madness tonight, followed by its European premier at LFF’s Official Competition on 18th October! The film follows a gorgeous deep-red silky dress - courtesy of echo’s Costume Designer Jo Thompson - that proves to be possessed while passing from one owner to the other…fashion can kill! Amazing Hair and Make-Up by echo’s Emma Scott.

"THE FAVOURITE" WINS GRAND JURY PRIZE AT VENICE!

THE FAVOURITE, the latest film from Academy Award nominated director, Yorgos Lanthimos, has won the Grand Jury Prize at this year's Venice along with Olivia Colman winning the Best Actress Volpi Cup.

With additional editing by echo's Sam Sneade and starring Rachel Weisz, Emma Stone and Olivia Colman, the film was also part of the selection for New York and Telluride Film Festivals and is also part of the London Film Festival in October.

Congratulations to all ECHO clients who have films selected in this year’s London Film Festival!  Screening in the First Feature Competition are: APOSTASY, directed by Daniel Kokotajlo and cut by Napoleon Stratogiannakis; BEAST, directed by Michael Pearce with production design by Laura Ellis Cricks; I AM NOT A WITCH, directed by Rungano Nyoni, with cinematography by David Gallego, ADFC, costume design by Holly Rebecca, and art direction by Malin Lindholm. In the Documentary Competition: Jinx Godfrey for her consulting work on KINGDOM OF US, directed by Lucy Cohen.  Other films screening at the festival include: DARK RIVER, directed by Clio Barnard and co-cut by Luke Dunkley; GOOD TIME, directed by Josh and Benny Safdie and lensed by Sean Price Williams; THE PARTY, directed by Sally Potter with costume design by Jane Petrie; AAMIR, directed by Vika Evdokimenko and edited by Matteo Bini; FAMILY HAPPINESS, directed by Alice Englert with cinematography by Lachlan Milne, ACS; OKSIJAN, directed by Edward Watts and lensed by Michael Paleodimos; ROBOT AND SCARECROW, directed by Kibwe Tavares and designed by Laura Ellis Cricks.  The festival will take place from 4th- 15th October.
