MICHAEL PEARCE’S “BEAST” WINS A BAFTA!

Echo is very proud to say that Michael Pearce’s BEAST won a BAFTA last night for Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director, or Producer! Congratulations to our clients, Production Designer Laura Ellis Cricks and Costume Designer Jo Thompson who both worked on the film!

Congratulations also go to Sam Sneade, Addtional Editor on THE FAVOURITE which took home 7 BAFTAS in total!

BAFTA NOMINATIONS ANNOUNCED!

This year’s BAFTA nominations have been announced and we are very pleased to congratulate Production Designer Laura Ellis Cricks and Costume Designer Jo Thompson for their work on Michael Pearce’s BEAST which has been nominated for Outstanding British Film and Outstanding Debut; Guy Speranza for his costume design on Jon S. Baird’s STAN & OLLIE which is also nominated for Outstanding British Film; Editor Napoleon Stratogiannakis for his work of APOSTASY which has a nod for Outstanding Debut for Director Dan Kokotajlo; and last but not least Sam Sneade who was Additional Editor on THE FAVOURITE which is nominated for Best Film along with 10 other awards. Congratulations!! The award ceremony will take place in London on the 10th of February.

SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL STARTS TODAY!

The Sundance Film Festival starts today with a few additional ECHO appearances!  Jonas Åkerlund's LORDS OF CHAOS follows the dark and twisted beginnings of Oslo's Black Metal movement, showing in the "Midnight" programme with costumes designed by Susie Coulthard and hair and make-up designed by Loz Schiavo. Meanwhile Yannis Chalkiadakis, a new client to ECHO edited the feature PITY which is nominated for the Grand Jury Prize.  MR INBETWEEN, directed by Nash Edgerton and lensed by Director of Photography Christopher Miles will also see it's world premiere.   This is in addition to, the BAFTA nominated I AM NOT A WITCH, with art direction from Malin Lindholm, lensed by David Gallego and costumed by Holly Rebecca, along with the US premiere of Michael Pearce's BEAST, with production design by Laura Ellis Cricks OPHELIA, starring Naomi Watts and Tom Felton will have it's world premiere, directed by Claire McCarthy and edited by Luke Dunkley.  Luke also co-edited Bart Layton's AMERICAN ANIMALS, screening in the "US Dramatic Competition".

LONDON FILM FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES LINEUP

Congratulations to all ECHO clients who have films selected in this year’s London Film Festival!  Screening in the First Feature Competition are: APOSTASY, directed by Daniel Kokotajlo and cut by Napoleon Stratogiannakis; BEAST, directed by Michael Pearce with production design by Laura Ellis Cricks; I AM NOT A WITCH, directed by Rungano Nyoni, with cinematography by David Gallego, ADFC, costume design by Holly Rebecca, and art direction by Malin Lindholm. In the Documentary Competition: Jinx Godfrey for her consulting work on KINGDOM OF US, directed by Lucy Cohen.  Other films screening at the festival include: DARK RIVER, directed by Clio Barnard and co-cut by Luke Dunkley; GOOD TIME, directed by Josh and Benny Safdie and lensed by Sean Price Williams; THE PARTY, directed by Sally Potter with costume design by Jane Petrie; AAMIR, directed by Vika Evdokimenko and edited by Matteo Bini; FAMILY HAPPINESS, directed by Alice Englert with cinematography by Lachlan Milne, ACS; OKSIJAN, directed by Edward Watts and lensed by Michael Paleodimos; ROBOT AND SCARECROW, directed by Kibwe Tavares and designed by Laura Ellis Cricks.  The festival will take place from 4th- 15th October.
