ECHO BEST OF 2021: PETITE MAMAN
Number 4 of our Best of 2021 selection is the award-winning PETITE MAMAN! The beautiful film was written and directed by the brilliant Céline Sciamma, and has received huge critical acclaim as well as screening at the world's top Festivals, including TIFF and Telluride. This moving fairytale of childhood, parenthood + friendship is a strong echo favourite from this year!
TIFF 2020 LINEUP ANNOUNCED!
TIFF 2020 lineup has been released! Included in this years announcement is Cathy Brady’s WILDFIRE (pictured), cut but Editor Matteo Bini; Ben Sharrock’s LIMBO, shot by Nick Cooke, designed by PD Andy Drummond, with costumes by Holly Rebecca and Eve Doherty as First Assistant Editor; THE THIRD DAY will also screen at the fest which Editors Simon Smith, Dan Roberts and Luke Dunkley all worked on, alongside DoP David Chizallet, AFC.
This years fest will be a “reimagined physical and digital festival” and will run from 10th - 19th September!
ECHO FESTIVAL FOCUS: "THE FRIEND"!
Gabriela Cowperthwaite’s THE FRIEND has it’s World Premiere at TIFF today! The film was shot by echo’s DoP Joe Anderson and with an all star cast of Dakota Johnson, Jason Segal, Casey Affleck and Gwendoline Christie.
MORE FILMS ADDED TO THE 2019 TIFF LINEUP!
Further additions to the 2019 Toronto Film Festival have been announced, including A WHITE WHITE DAY (pictured) directed by Hlynur Pálmason and shot by Maria von Hausswolff; J-P Valkeapää’s DOGS DON’T WEAR PANTS edited by echo’s new client Mervi Junkkonen and Dan Friedkin’s LYREBIRD with Costume Design by Guy Speranza.
The final lineup will be revealed on 20th August before the festival begins on 5th September.
TIFF 2019 LINEUP ANNOUNCED!
We are excited to say that the first wave of the TIFF lineup is announced and the following client films will be screening at this year’s fest: Gabriela Cowperthwaite’s THE FRIEND, shot by echo’s Joe Anderson; JUDY, directed by Rupert Goold and with production design by Kave Quinn and Cory Finley’s BAD EDUCATION with costume design by Alex Bovaird.
The festival takes place between 5th - 15th September.
"THE OLD MAN & THE GUN" IS OUT IN THE UK TODAY!
After doing the festival rounds, including London, Toronto and Camerimage, David Lowery’s THE OLD MAN & THE GUN is released in UK cinemas today! The final silver screen performance by Robert Redford has been praised by critics and it is beautifully shot by echo’s DoP Joe Anderson.

Camerimage Film Festival starts today and David Lowery’s THE OLD MAN & THE GUN will open the festival. Shot by echo’s Joe Anderson, Robert Redford’s final acting role before retirement was at Telluride and in official competition at both Toronto and London Film Festivals this year.
"THE LAND OF STEADY HABITS": ECHO FESTIVAL FOCUS
Having it's world premiere at this year's Gala Presentation at TIFF, Nicole Holofcener's THE LAND OF STEADY HABITS - with Costume Design by Alex Bovaird - follows Anders Hill (Ben Mendelsohn) while he subverts his life to find freedom. His reckless new path leaves him regretting his decisions and questioning who he really is, both as a person and as a father. The film will be then released on Netflix on September 14th.
"GWEN": ECHO FESTIVAL FOCUS
William McGregor’s directorial debut has it's world premiere today at Toronto Film Festival. With remarkable production design by echo’s Laura Ellis Cricks, GWEN tells the story of a mother and her daughters as they endeavour to overcome a succession of peculiar calamities.

After huge success at festivals this year already including winning the Un Certain Regard Award at Cannes Film Festival, Ali Abbasi's BORDER will also appear at this year's TIFF, Telluride and the London Film Festival. Shot by the incredibly talented, Variety's "Cinematographer To Watch", echo's Nadim Carlsen, don’t let anyone spoil the plot before going to see it! This is one not to be missed!

Festival Season is in full swing and Telluride has now announced their lineup for this year's festival. TORONTO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL FULL LINE UP ANNOUNCED!
TIFF 2018 has been releasing their line up in stages over the last couple of weeks, with the final program announced last night. We are very pleased to congratulate the following echo clients whose projects are at the festival; Gala Presentations include the world premiere of David McKenzie's OUTLAW KING which will open the festival, with Costume Design by Jane Petrie and Hair + Make-Up Design by Kirstin Chalmers; the world premiere of Nicole Holofcener's THE LAND OF STEADY HABITS with Costume Design by Alex Bovaird and A PRIVATE WAR directed by Matthew Heineman with Production Design by Sophie Becher. Lensed by Sean Price Williams, Alex Ross Perry's HER SMELL will also have it's world premiere at the festival and will be shown in the Platform Presentations Program. In the Special Presentation Category we have more world premieres for TEEN SPIRIT, directed by Max Minghella with Production Design by Kave Quinn; and Jake Scott's AMERICAN WOMAN which again features Costume Design by Alex Bovaird. Costume Designer, Jo Thompson and Hair + Make-up Designer, Emma Scott worked on Peter Strickland's IN FABRIC, which is part of the Midnight Madness program. The Contemporary World Cinema category includes BORDER directed by Ali Abassi and shot by Nadim Carlsen; and BIRDS OF PASSAGE directed by Cristina Gallego and Ciro Guerro, lensed by DoP David Gallego, ADFC. Last but not least, GWEN directed by William McGregor and with Production Design by Laura Ellis Cricks will appear in the Discovery section. Congratulations to you all!
