The beautiful film was written and directed by the brilliant Céline Sciamma, and has received huge critical acclaim as well as screening at the world's top Festivals, including TIFF and Telluride. ECHO BEST OF 2021: MINARI

MINARI is Number 7 in our Top 10 TV + Film countdown of 2021!

The film received the Grand Jury Prize and U.S. Dramatic Audience Award at Sundance, and the Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture (Foreign Language).

The moving drama about family and the experience of immigration was written and directed by Lee Isaac Chung and features the brilliant work of echo's DOP Lachlan Milne ASC, ACS, NZCS.

What a year 2020 has been! A year where we’ve arguably watched more Film and TV than ever and entertainment helped us escape from reality when we’ve needed to the most! As usual we counting down our Top 10 TV and Films of the year…

So without further ado, at Number 10 is THE THIRD DAY! The mini-series hit our screens back in September and kept us on the edge of our seats. A brilliant cast and crew which included echo Editors Simon Smith, Luke Dunkley and Dan Roberts and Director of Photography David Chizallet, AFC.

JO THOMPSON WRAPS ON SERIES “MOTHERFATHERSON”!

Costume Designer, Jo Thompson wraps today on BBC series MOTHERFATHERSON! Starring Helen McCrory, Richard Gere and Billy Howle the eight part drama was created by Rob Tom Smith (LONDON SPY) and directed by James Kent and Charles Sturridge. The psychological thriller follows a family as the self destructive behaviour of the son, threatens the future of their media empire.

Dan Roberts cuts the third block of HIS DARK MATERIALS, directed by Otto Bathurst and starring Dafne Keen! Echo's new client Richard Ketteridge is also Assembly Editor for the fouth block for director Jamie Childs. The TV adaptation of Philip Pullman’s acclaimed novels (also writer of THE GOLDEN COMPASS, pictured) is penned and executive produced by Jack Thorne, lead directed by Tom Hooper and produced by Bad Wolf for BBC and HBO

Starring Sean Harris, Matthew Holness' feature debut, POSSUM is out in UK cinemas today! Produced by BFI and The Fyzz, the film features hair and make-Up design by echo’s Emma Scott, and art direction by Alexandra Toomey. The twisted horror sees a disgraced children's puppeteer being forced to confront his wicked stepfather and the secrets that have tortured him throughout his life.

STAN AND OLLIE is the Closing Night Gala of this year’s London Film Fest! Steve Coogan and John C. Reilly star as the most iconic Hollywood comedy duo. Directed by Jon S. Baird and produced by Entertainment One and BBC, the film portrays the life long relationship of Laurel and Hardy with fabulous Costume Design by echo’s Guy Speranza. Martin Skovbjerg’s directorial debut, STICKS AND STONES, is showing tonight at LFF! Exploring the darkest corners of extreme masculinity, the film follows Simon and his family moving to the suburbs where he will find a friend who challenges him into more and more transgressive actions. David Gallego, ADFC lensed the film with Snowglobe Films producing.

Hair and Make-Up Designer, Bean Ellis has wrapped on FLEABAG director, Tim Kirkby's comedy series DON’T FORGET THE DRIVER. Starring Toby Jones (pictured here in BERBERIAN SOUND STUDIO) and produced by Sister Pictures for BBC2, the series follows a group of ordinary people struggling to identify their place in the world and shows how, in one single moment, an accidental encounter can change everything.

“THE OLD MAN AND THE GUN”: ECHO FESTIVAL FOCUS

THE OLD MAN AND THE GUN is having its European premiere at LFF tonight! Directed by David Lowery and shot by echo’s Joe Anderson, the film sees Robert Redford (soon to be retired) playing Forrest Tucker, the infamous criminal who escaped from San Quentin State Prison with a self-built kayak and committed his last bank robbery at the age of seventy-nine. Sissy Spacek and Casey Affleck star in the picture alongside Redford for a nostalgic dip into classic American independent cinema.

Ben Wheatley’s new film HAPPY NEW YEAR, COLIN BURSTEAD premieres tonight! With Costume Design by echo’s Emma Fryer and Hair and Make Up Design by Emma Scott, the film is part of LFF’s Official Competition and stars Neil Maskell, Sam Riley, Joe Cole, Charles Dance, Hayley Squires and more. The film will then air on BBC this Christmas.

ANDREW COMMIS HAS BEGUN SHOOTING “HIGH GROUND”!

Shoot has begun on Stephen Johnson’s frontier Western HIGH GROUND and echo’s Director of Photography Andrew Commis, ACS is shooting the picture. Set in Australia’s Arnhem Land and Kakadu National Park, starring Guy Pearce (pictured here in PROPOSITON) and produced by Bunya Productions, the film follows a bounty hunter and a young indigenous man embarking in a manhunt, which will reveal a secret that will ultimately pit them against each other.

TIM MURRELL EDITS “17 BRIDGES”!

Editor Tim Murrell is starting today on the post-production for the feature film 17 BRIDGES. Directed by Brian Kirk and produced by AGBO, STX Entertainment and Getaway Entertainment, the film follows a NYPD detective (Chadwick Boseman, pictured here in MESSAGE FROM THE KING) who begins to undercover a big conspiracy where corrupted cops are involved into New York’s criminal empire. All of Manhattan’s seventeen bridges must be blocked over the man hunt that will follow.
