‘A CRUEL LOVE: THE RUTH ELLIS STORY’ HAS BEEN RELEASED

Featuring echo client work with Costume Design by Emma Fryer.

The drama is based on Carol Ann Lee’s biography ‘A FINE DAY FOR A HANGING: THE REAL RUTH ELLIS STORY’. Which follows the story of Ruth Ellis, the last woman to be hanged in the United Kingdom, following the shooting of her abusive lover.

The four part miniseries is stars Lucy Boynton, Laurie Davidson, and Toby Jones. With all four episodes directed by Lee Haven Jones and produced by Silverprint Pictures for ITVX and Britbox.

The Series is available to stream in full on ITVX and Britbox worldwide.

'DREAMERS' premiered at Berlinale yesterday and dropped a first look clip!

Directed by Joy Gharoro-Akpojotor and edited by echo’s Arttu Salmi BFE The film is produced by BBC Film & Quiddity Films, and stars Ann Akinjirin, Diana Yekinni, and Aiysha Hart.

Independent have released their list for ‘The 50 greatest TV episodes of all time’!

From sitcoms to award winning drama’s, Independent have put together a list of the greatest TV episodes of all time.

Coming in at the second greatest television episode of all time is I May Destroy You – Episode 12: ‘Ego Death’ which was edited by echo’s John Dwelly, along with episode 6 in the series.

SURVIVING EARTH is set to have its world premiere at SXSW this March!

Directed by Thea Gajic with Production Design by echo’s Elena Muntoni and Costume Design by echo’s Oliver Cronk.

Produced by My Accomplice + Sona Films, the film stars Slavko Sobin, Olive Gray, and Stuart Martin,

Based on a true story, the film follows Vlad, a gifted harmonica player who fled the Yugoslav conflict in the 1990s and built a new life in Bristol as a counsellor. Bringing his love for Balkan music to the city, he forms a band with colleagues, hoping to make a mark on the local scene. But as their success grows, the traumas of Vlad’s past resurface, threatening the stability of the life he has built.

SXSW will commence on March 7th - 15th!

THE 2024 BRITISH SHORT FILMS AWARDS HAVE BEEN ANNOUNCED!

Congratulations to echo clients Dasha Taivas and Rachel Clark, BSC on their achievements at the 2024 British Short Film Awards.

Dasha Taivas won the award for Best Hair + Make-Up for her work on THE LICENSED FOOL. While DELIVERY, shot by Rachel Clark, BSC, won Best Short Film.

Dreamers is set to premiere at Berlinale this year!

The film follows Isio, A woman who is caught working without papers, trapped inside Hatchworth removal centre, where she learns that finding love, friendship, and freedom sometimes means doing the wrong things.

Berlinale screening times for DREAMERS will be released on February 4th.

Congratulations to echo client Rachel Clark, BSC, who has been nominated for Best Cinematography on DELIVERY, which has also been nominated for Best Short Film, and Dasha Taivas for her nomination for Best Hair and MakeUp on A LICENSED FOOL.

THE 2025 BAFTAS LONGLIST HAS BEEN ANNOUNCED!

BAFTA has revealed the longlist for the 2025 film awards ahead of the final nominations being announced on Wednesday 15th January. We’re glad to see the list features great echo client work from last year including:

H IS FOR HAWK began shooting last week featuring echo’s Hair + Make-Up Designer, Emma Scott!

Based on the universal themes of healing and rebuilding and the well-received New York Times memoir by author Helen MacDonald, the film is set to star Claire Foy and Brendan Gleeson.

STAR WARS' ANDOR IS OUT TOMORROW ON DISNEY+!

ANDOR is out tomorrow! The Star Wars prequel series was designed by echo Hair + Makeup Designer Emma Scott, with 2nd Unit Hair + Makeup by echo's Jemma Carballo. Directed by Benjamin Caron, Toby Haynes and Susanna White, the series was cut by echo Editors: Dan Roberts on Episodes 5 + 6; Simon Smith on Episodes 9 + 10, and Yan Miles, ACE, on Episodes 11 + 12. FUNNY PAGES is out in cinemas now! The coming-of-age film, shot by echo DOP Sean Price Williams and written and directed by Owen Kline, has received fantastic critical reception since its premiere at Cannes Directors' Fortnight earlier this year. Don't miss it!

THE WHITE LOTUS AWARDED BEST LIMITED SERIES AT LAST NIGHT'S EMMYS!

The 74th Primetime Emmy Awards took place last night! A massive congratulations to the cast and crew of THE WHITE LOTUS, including echo's wonderful Costume Designer Alex Bovaird, which won the award for Best Limited Series. This marks a total of 10 Emmy wins for the fantastic series! Bravo!

BLUE JEAN PICKS UP AUDIENCE PRIZE AT VENICE'S GIORNATE DEGLI AUTORI!

BLUE JEAN has been awarded the Audience Prize at Venice Film Festival's Giornate degli Autori! The film is Director Georgia Oakley's feature debut and was designed by echo's Hair + Makeup Designer Kat Morgan. It also premiered at this year's TIFF and is set to show at LFF, where it has been nominated for the Sutherland Award!

The 66th BFI London Film Festival has revealed more of this year's lineup - hosting the world premieres of films: IF THE STREETS WERE ON FIRE, shot by echo DOP Ruben Woodin Dechamps, and PRETTY RED DRESS, cut by Editor Andonis Trattos.
