Last day at TIFF! Lensed by echo’s David Gallego, ADFC, BIRDS OF PASSAGE premiers today, directed by Cristina Gallego and Ciro Guerra’s. Also screening in competition at London Film Festival, the film tells the story of a man from the Wayuu tribe in Colombia as he becomes more and more involved in drug trading to be able to afford the extravagant dowry he needs to marry the tribe’s matriarch daughter. With costumes by echo's Alex Bovaird and starring Sienna Miller, Christina Hendricks and Aaron Paul, the film tells the story of the disappearance of a child over a period of 11 years. Director Jake Scott highlights the tragedies that change a person and the life that happens in between. AMERICAN WOMAN premiered at Toronto Film Festival on Sunday 9th September.
“THE OLD MAN & THE GUN”: ECHO FESTIVAL FOCUS
The latest film from 'AINT THEM BODIES SAINTS and A GHOST STORY director, David Lowery is taking the 2018 film festivals by storm! Based on a true story, THE OLD MAN & THE GUN follows Forrest Tucker, an unremorseful career criminal in his quest to live life on his own terms. The star studded cast boasts Robert Redford (in his final role before retiring), Sissy Spacek, Danny Glover and Tom Waits. Lensed by new echo DoP, Joe Anderson, the film premieres at Toronto Film Festival today after having it's world premiere at Telluride Film Festival. If you aren't able to attend either festival, then you can see the film in competition at this year's London Film Festival in October.
"HER SMELL": ECHO FESTIVAL FOCUS
A teaser has been released ahead of the world premiere tomorrow at Toronto! Lensed by regular collaborator Sean Price Williams, Alex Ross Perry directs Elizabeth Moss as an unhinged punk rocker and destructive musician, struggling with sobriety and pushing the relationship with her bandmates, family and fans to the limit.
The film premieres at Toronto International Film Festival on Sunday 9th September.
"TEEN SPIRIT" AT TIFF!
TEEN SPIRIT, with echo's production designer Kave Quinn at the helm, will appear in the Special Presentation Category at this year's Toronto Film Festival! Produced by LA LA LAND Producer, Fred Berger at Automatik Entertainment, the film is the directorial debut by The Handmaid's Tale actor Max Minghella and stars Elle Fanning as a shy teenager living on the Isle of Wight who dreams of becoming a pop star.
