Festival Season is in full swing and Telluride has now announced their lineup for this year's festival. EMMA SCOTT STARTS SHOOTING "THE NEST"!

Shooting has begun on MARTHA MARCY MAY MARLENE director, Sean Durkin's next feature, THE NEST. Written by Durkin and produced by Element Pictures, FilmNation and BBC Films, the part psychological thriller, part family drama stars Jude Law and Carrie Coon (pictured).  Hair + Make-up Designer, Emma Scott has re-united with Durkin after working together previously on SOUTHCLIFFE.  

COSTUME DESIGNER GUY SPERANZA BEGINS SHOOT ON ALEX GARLAND'S "DEVS"!

DEVS, the new 8 part series directed by Alex Garland (pictured with Alicia Vikander in Ex Machina) has started shooting this week. The thriller, produced by DNA Films and FX productions, follows a computer engineer who suspects that a secretive department in her company is behind the disappearance of her boyfriend. Echo's Guy Speranza is on board to design the costumes and Nick Offerman and Zach Grenier star.

"TEEN SPIRIT" AT TIFF!

TEEN SPIRIT, with echo's production designer Kave Quinn at the helm, will appear in the Special Presentation Category at this year's Toronto Film Festival! Produced by LA LA LAND Producer, Fred Berger at Automatik Entertainment, the film is the directorial debut by The Handmaid's Tale actor Max Minghella and stars Elle Fanning as a shy teenager living on the Isle of Wight who dreams of becoming a pop star.

"OUTLAW KING" FIRST LOOK!

The trailer for David Mackenzie's new feature, OUTLAW KING has been released. The star studded biopic which will open this year's Toronto Film Festival is Produced by Sigma, Netflix and Anonymous Content and tells the story of the King of Scots, Robert The Bruce, and his fight against the ruling English. The film stars Chris Pine, Florence Pugh and Aaron Taylor-Johnson and features costume design by Jane Petrie and hair design by Kirstin Chalmers. The film will be officially released on Netflix on November 9th.

JON HENSON'S PRODUCTION DESIGN FEATURED ON NEW AOIFE MCARDLE CONFUSED.COM COMMERCIAL!

Production Designer, Jon Henson, has designed the new Confused.com advert, FROM CONFUSION TO CLARITY, directed by Aoife McArdle which you'll see on your television screens at the moment. The commercial, produced by Somesuch, portrays what it's like to live in a world with too much choice and how overwhelming it can really be...

TORONTO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL FULL LINE UP ANNOUNCED!

TIFF 2018 has been releasing their line up in stages over the last couple of weeks, with the final program announced last night. We are very pleased to congratulate the following echo clients whose projects are at the festival; Gala Presentations include the world premiere of David McKenzie's OUTLAW KING which will open the festival, with Costume Design by Jane Petrie and Hair + Make-Up Design by Kirstin Chalmers; the world premiere of Nicole Holofcener's THE LAND OF STEADY HABITS with Costume Design by Alex Bovaird and A PRIVATE WAR directed by Matthew Heineman with Production Design by Sophie Becher. Lensed by Sean Price Williams, Alex Ross Perry's HER SMELL will also have it's world premiere at the festival and will be shown in the Platform Presentations Program. In the Special Presentation Category we have more world premieres for TEEN SPIRIT, directed by Max Minghella with Production Design by Kave Quinn; and Jake Scott's AMERICAN WOMAN which again features Costume Design by Alex Bovaird. Costume Designer, Jo Thompson and Hair + Make-up Designer, Emma Scott worked on Peter Strickland's IN FABRIC, which is part of the Midnight Madness program. The Contemporary World Cinema category includes BORDER directed by Ali Abassi and shot by Nadim Carlsen; and BIRDS OF PASSAGE directed by Cristina Gallego and Ciro Guerro, lensed by DoP David Gallego, ADFC. Last but not least, GWEN directed by William McGregor and with Production Design by Laura Ellis Cricks will appear in the Discovery section. Congratulations to you all! TlFF takes place between 6th - 16th September.

VENICE FILM FESTIVAL LINE UP ANNOUNCED!

This year's Venice Film Festival line up has been announced! Congratulations go to Sam Sneade who was Additional Editor on Yorgos Lanthimos' THE FAVOURITE which is nominated for a Golden Lion Award. Congrats also go to Director of Photography Carlos Catalan for Alvaro Brechner's LA NOCHE DE 12 AÑOS (pictured) which is nominated for Best Film in the Horizon Award category. The festival takes place between 29th August and 8th September.

"LEADING LADY PARTS" IS AVAILABLE NOW ON BBC iPLAYER!

The short film, LEADING LADY PARTS, is now available to stream on BBC iPlayer. Written and Directed by Jessica Swale the project is part of the "Hear Her" series inspired by the Times Up campaign. Produced by Rebel Park Productions and shot by echo's Chloë Thomson, the short features a star studded cast including Catherine Tate, Gemma Arterton, Emilia Clarke, Florence Pugh and Tom Hiddleston.

"APOSTASY" IS OUT TODAY!

Written and Directed by Dan Kokotajlo, APOSTASY is out today in the UK. Produced by Frank & Lively and BFI, the story is about a faithful Jehovah's Witness who is forced to shun her own sister because of a religious transgression. Starring Siobhan Finneran and edited beautifully by Napoleon Stratogiannakis. It's a must see!

THE FIRST TRAILER OF J.J. ABRAMS PRODUCED "OVERLORD" IS OUT!

Beginning as an intense war drama, OVERLORD unfolds into a bloody horror when U.S. paratroopers stumble upon Nazi zombie experiments. The film, which is out in cinemas later this year, was directed by SON OF A GUN director Julius Avery and produced through J.J. Abrams' Bad Robot and Paramount Pictures with production design by Jon Henson.

CHLOË THOMSON WRAPS ON "THE LONG SONG"!

Director of Photography, Chloë Thomson, has wrapped on THE LONG SONG, directed by regular collaborator Mahalia Belo. The three parter for BBC One, produced by Heyday Films and NBC Universal TV, is adapted from Andrea Levy's novel about the dying days of slavery in Jamaica. 

JANE PETRIE IS NOMINATED FOR AN EMMY FOR THE CROWN!

The 2018 Emmy nominations have officially arrived and huge congratulations go to Jane Petrie who has been nominated in the category of Outstanding Period Costumes for her work on the second series of THE CROWN.  Sweeping up an impressive 13 nominations in total, THE CROWN is also nominated for Outstanding Director (Stephen Daldry) and Outstanding Drama Series.  Congratulations also go to our echo editors Tim Murrell, Luke Dunkley and Dan Roberts who worked on PATRICK MELROSE which secured 5 nominations including Lead Actor (Benedict Cumberbatch), Outstanding Directing (Edward Berger) and Outstanding Miniseries.  Congratulations to everyone nominated and fingers crossed for the Awards Ceremony on 17th September!

"SWIMMING WITH MEN" IN CINEMAS TODAY!

Oliver Parker's SWIMMING WITH MEN is released in UK cinemas today, with costume design by Jo Thompson. The dark comedy follows a man in the midst of a mid-life crisis who finds new meaning when he joins an amateur, all-male, synchronised swimming team. Produced by Met Film Productions and Showbox films, it stars Rob Brydon, Jim Carter, Thomas Turgoose and Adeel Akhtar. 

"CALIBRE" IS OUT NOW ON NETFLIX!

After winning the Michael Powell Award for Best British Film at Edinburgh Film Festival last week, CALIBRE, the debut feature of Matt Palmer was released on Netflix on Friday. The nail biting thriller takes place in the Scottish Highlands and stars Jack Lowden and Martin McCann. The film was produced by Wellington Films and with Hair + Make-Up Design by Bean Ellis. Get watching!

GUY SPERANZA WRAPS ON "LYREBIRD"!

Dan Friedkin, Producer of ALL THE MONEY IN THE WORLD and Executive Producer of THE SQUARE has now wrapped on his directorial debut, LYREBIRD. Guy Pearce (pictured from BREATHE IN), Claes Bang and Vicky Krieps star in the film based on the true story of an art forger who dupes the Nazi's in to believing his copies are original masterpieces. Produced by Imperative Entertainment and Ridley Scott, the costumes were designed by echo's  Guy Speranza.

"SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS" HAS WRAPPED!

The Facebook and Big Beach Films series SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS has finished shooting. Directed by James Ponsoldt, the ten part half hour series explores the life of a widow as she deals with the grief of her late husband while reconnecting with relationships of her past. With Costume Design by Alex Bovaird and starring Elizabeth Olsen the project is one of the first high end series to be ordered for Facebook's new streaming platform, Watch. 

"THE HAPPY PRINCE" IS RELEASED TODAY!

Directed by and staring Rupert Everett as Oscar Wilde, THE HAPPY PRINCE, is released in UK cinemas today. Edited by echo's Nicolas Gaster, it is depicts the less known story of Oscar Wilde's, tragic, former years after being released from prison. It is produced by BBC Films, Maze Pictures and Lionsgate.
