"BLACK SHEEP" WINS AT SHEFFIELD DOCUMENTARY FESTIVAL!

Congrats to BLACK SHEEP, the short documentary, directed by Ed Perkins and produced by Simon Chinn and Lightbox for The Guardian, which took home the prize for 'Best Short' at it's UK premiere at Sheffield International Documentary Festival yesterday. Shot by Michael Paleodimos with costume design by Sharon Long, the powerful story follows Cornelius, who joins the racist gang who have been persecuting him in order to 'fit in'.

With Costume Designer Holly Rebecca  at the helm (pictured here on the set of I AM NOT A WITCH), first time feature director, Remi Weekes is now in production on the Sundance Institute’s NHK Award winning, HIS HOUSE. The elevated horror follows a young refugee couple who make a harrowing escape from war-torn Sudan but then struggle to adjust to their new life in a small English town that has an evil lurking beneath the surface. Produced by New Regency Pictures and BBC Films the film stars Wunmi Mosaku and Sope Dirisu.

"AMERICAN ANIMALS" IS RELEASED IN THE US TODAY!

After receiving rave reviews at the Sundance Film Festival earlier in the year, AMERICAN ANIMALS, co-edited by Luke Dunkley, is released today in the US.  Directed by Bart Layton following on from his BAFTA and BIFA winning THE IMPOSTER, the compelling and brilliant new narrative feature debut blurs the lines between fact and fiction in it's tale of heist that took place in the Special Collections area of Kentucky’s Transylvania University's library.   Starring Barry Keoghan as Spencer Rheinhard, the film was produced by Katherine Butler, Derrin Schlesinger, Dimitri Dogani, Poppy Dixon and Mary Jane Skalski and will see a UK release later in the year.

EDITOR SACHA SZWARC BEGINS EDIT ON IFEATURE "MAKE UP"

Sacha Szwarc begins the edit on Claire Oakley's debut feature film, MAKE UP which is now in post.  Produced by BAFTA award winning Emily Morgan, the psycho-sexual thriller is set in Cornwall and tells the story of a young woman, played by BAFTA winner Molly Windsor, who is forced to question her sexuality when she is stalked by another woman.

"CALM WITH HORSES" NOW SHOOTING

DMC Film, Element Pictures and Film4 have combined forces to produce the film, CALM WITH HORSES which is now shooting.  With hair + make-up design by Emma Scott and costume design by Sharon LongNFTS director graduate, Nick Rowland's debut feature stars Cosmo Jarvis (LADY MACBETH) and Barry Keoghan (THE KILLING OF A SACRED DEER).  The story follows the father of a young autistic boy who is the feared enforcer of a drug dealing family and how his attempt to finally do the right thing puts everyone in danger.

JANE PETRIE STARTS SHOOTING DAVID MICHÔD'S NEW MOVIE "THE KING" 

THE KING, produced by Netflix, Plan B and Porchlight Films, starring Joel Edgerton and Academy Award nominee Timothée Chalamet has now started shooting. The film brings Costume Designer, Jane Petrie and director David Michôd to collaborate again after working together on WAR MACHINE.

A huge congratulations to our clients who worked on the following projects that won tonight at the BAFTA TV Awards. THREE GIRLS won Best Mini-Series and Best Leading Actress for Molly Windsor, with costume design by Emma FryerPEAKY BLINDERS won Best Drama Series for the first time, edited by Dan Roberts and hair + make-up design by Loz Schiavo; THE CROWN Series 2 picked up Best Supporting Actress for Vanessa Kirkby, with costume design by Jane Petrie. Well done to everyone involved!

"PATRICK MELROSE" BROADCASTS THIS WEEKEND!

The new series, PATRICK MELROSE, starring Benedict Cumberbatch will be released in the US on Saturday and the UK on Sunday. Produced by Little Island Productions and Cumberbatch's production company SunnyMarch for Showtime and Sky Atlantic, the story is based on Edward St Aubyn's novels that follow Melrose's journey from traumatic childhood through to adult substance abuse. Ed Berger directs the 5 part series and echo's Tim Murrell cut all episodes with Luke Dunkley co-editing episodes 2 + 4 and Dan Roberts co-editing episode 3. For UK viewers, tune in to Sky Atlantic at 9pm on Sunday night!

"7 DAYS IN ENTEBBE" IS RELEASED IN UK CINEMAS TOMORROW!

7 DAYS IN ENTEBBE, directed by José Padihla, is out in the UK today. It is Produced by Participant Media and Working Title Films and was in competition at Berlin Film Festival this year. Featuring production design by Kave Quinn and a cast that includes Rosamund Pike and Daniel Brühl, the film is inspired by the true events of the 1976 hijacking of an Air France flight en route from Tel Aviv to Paris.

THE NEW VIRGIN + AMAZON SERIES "THE FEED" BEGINS SHOOTING!

THE FEED, a new 10 part sci-fi series for Virgin and Amazon starts shooting this week with Carl Tibbetts opening the show followed by Tinge Krishnan and Misha Manson-Smith. Production Designer, Dick Lunn is designing the first episode of the series and Laura Ellis Cricks will design episodes 2-10. Director of Photography, Carlos Catalan will shoot episodes 7 + 8 with Misha Manson-Smith. The series is based on Nick Clark Windo's novel of the same name released at the beginning of the year.

Matteo Bini has now finished the latest documentary from Cowboy Films, BACK THE SOURCE. Directed by Kevin MacDonald, the documentary shows the band Mumford & Sons as they journey to the most remote music festival in the world, Blues de Fleuve in Senegal. It follows their journey, the artists they meet and the music they make.

ANDREW COMMIS, ACS SHOOTS "ANGEL OF MINE"

The Garlin Pictures production, directed by Kim Farrant, has begun shooting with Andrew Commis, ACS lensing the film starring Yvonne Strahovski and Noomi Rapace. The story sees a mother grieving over the death of her daughter but she soon begins to lose her grip on reality when she starts to think her daughter could still be alive.

Editor Luke Dunkley will work alongside regular collaborator, director Marc Munden, on a new adaption of Frances Hodgson Burnett‘s children's classic, THE SECRET GARDEN.  Produced by David Heyman and Rosie Alison for Heyday Films and StudioCanal, the film has been penned by Jack Thorne and will star Colin Firth and Julie Walters.

SHOOTING BEGINS ON "SICK(ER)"

The shoot is underway on the new Film London and BFI microwave feature SICK(ER) this week, to be directed by first time feature director Lucy Brydon. The story follows a mother with a serious eating disorder on her fight to get her estranged daughter back. Costume Designer, Natalie Humphries and Production Designer, Sarah Jenneson are collaborating on the project.

SEAN PRICE WILLIAMS BEGINS WORK ON NEW ALEX ROSS PERRY FEATURE!

HER SMELL, the new Alex Ross Perry feature starts shooting this week. Lensed by long time collaborator Sean Price Williams, the film stars Elizabeth Moss and Amber Heard. Produced by Bow and Arrow Entertainment the story follows a self-destructive punk rocker who struggles to remain sober while looking for creative inspiration.

"BEAST" IN UK CINEMAS TODAY!

Nominated for the Sutherland Award for First Feature at the London Film Festival alongside being nominated for the Platform Prize at Toronto Film Festival, we are excited to announce the release of BEAST, which is out in UK cinemas today.  Directed by Michael Pearce and produced by Agile Films, Film4, BFI and Stray Bear Productions, the gripping thriller is set on the island of Jersey where Moll (Jessie Buckley), falls in love with Pascal (Johnny Flynn) who is suspected of being a serial killer. Featuring the incredible work of echo's Production Designer Laura Ellis Cricks, we are also pleased to announce that the film features equally incredible work from echo's new Costume Designer client, Jo Thompson. BEAST will be released in the US on May 11th.
