Hair and Make-Up Designer, Bean Ellis has wrapped on FLEABAG director, Tim Kirkby's comedy series DON’T FORGET THE DRIVER. Starring Toby Jones (pictured here in BERBERIAN SOUND STUDIO) and produced by Sister Pictures for BBC2, the series follows a group of ordinary people struggling to identify their place in the world and shows how, in one single moment, an accidental encounter can change everything.

THE OLD MAN AND THE GUN is having its European premiere at LFF tonight! Directed by David Lowery and shot by echo’s Joe Anderson, the film sees Robert Redford (soon to be retired) playing Forrest Tucker, the infamous criminal who escaped from San Quentin State Prison with a self-built kayak and committed his last bank robbery at the age of seventy-nine. Sissy Spacek and Casey Affleck star in the picture alongside Redford for a nostalgic dip into classic American independent cinema.

Featuring Amanda Seyfried (pictured in FIRST REFORMED) and Kevin Bacon, YOU SHOULD HAVE LEFT has started shooting this week. Produced by GET OUT’s Blumhouse Productions, Director David Koepp is collaborating with echo’s Production Designer Sophie Becher and Costume Designer Susie Coulthard.

Ben Wheatley’s new film HAPPY NEW YEAR, COLIN BURSTEAD premieres tonight! With Costume Design by echo’s Emma Fryer and Hair and Make Up Design by Emma Scott, the film is part of LFF’s Official Competition and stars Neil Maskell, Sam Riley, Joe Cole, Charles Dance, Hayley Squires and more. The film will then air on BBC this Christmas.

ANDREW COMMIS HAS BEGUN SHOOTING “HIGH GROUND”!

Shoot has begun on Stephen Johnson’s frontier Western HIGH GROUND and echo’s Director of Photography Andrew Commis, ACS is shooting the picture. Set in Australia’s Arnhem Land and Kakadu National Park, starring Guy Pearce (pictured here in PROPOSITON) and produced by Bunya Productions, the film follows a bounty hunter and a young indigenous man embarking in a manhunt, which will reveal a secret that will ultimately pit them against each other.

Shoot has begun on BAD EDUCATION and echo’s Costume Designer Alex Bovaird is once again collaborating with director Corey Finley. The film is produced by LA LA LAND Oscar winning producer Fred Berger through Automatik Entertainment and starts Hugh Jackman and Allison Janney.

TIM MURRELL EDITS “17 BRIDGES”!

Editor Tim Murrell is starting today on the post-production for the feature film 17 BRIDGES. Directed by Brian Kirk and produced by AGBO, STX Entertainment and Getaway Entertainment, the film follows a NYPD detective (Chadwick Boseman, pictured here in MESSAGE FROM THE KING) who begins to undercover a big conspiracy where corrupted cops are involved into New York’s criminal empire. All of Manhattan’s seventeen bridges must be blocked over the man hunt that will follow.

NIELS THASTUM SHOOTS “SUICIDE TOURIST”

DoP, Niels Thastum, DFF has begun the shoot on new feature, SUICIDE TOURIST with regular collaborator, Director Jonas Alexander Arnby. Niels has worked with Jonas in both commercials and film including WHEN ANIMALS DREAM which had it’s world premiere at Cannes Critics Week in 2014.

SUICIDE TOURIST, written by regular collaborator, Rasmus Birch and produced by Eva Jakobsen, Mikkel Jersin and Katrin Pors at Snowglobe Films, tells the story of insurance broker Max, suffering with a brain tumour who tries to take his own life. On realisation that his wife plans to leave him, he checks into a suicide hotel and goes on a journey of polar bears and weird suicides.

TWO FOR JOY is a family drama about a mother (Samantha Morton) who gets depression after her husband’s death, with devastating consequences on her two children. The film was directed by Tom Beard, with Production Design by echo’s Laura Ellis Cricks and Costume Design by echo’s Sarah Blenkinsop and produced by Blonde to Black Pictures, Pretty Bird and Creative England. Out in the UK cinemas today!

We are so thrilled for this year’s UKMVA. Very proud to say that Dua Lipa’s IDGAF, with Production Design by echo’s Morgan Kennedy and Stormzy Ft Mnek’s BLINDED BY YOUR GRACE, with Hair and Make-Up Design by Emma Scott have been nominated for “Best Pop Video”. Also nominated for “Best Pop Video” in the Newcomer category was Lightwave Empire’s TOO CLOSE TO THE SUN, shot by Nadim Carlsen. Whooop!

LYNNE RAMSAY’S UN “FEED OUR FUTURE” CAMPAIGN IS OUT!

Lynne Ramsay has directed the latest UN campaign titled “Feed Our Future”, which tackles the issue of worldwide hunger. The cinema advertisement was produced by Somesuch and Co., with costumes designed by echo’s Sarah Blenkinsop and hair and make-up designed by Emma Scott.

Director of Photography Christopher Miles has lensed all six episodes of the series which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival.

Last day at TIFF! Lensed by echo’s David Gallego, ADFC, BIRDS OF PASSAGE premiers today, directed by Cristina Gallego and Ciro Guerra’s. Also screening in competition at London Film Festival, the film tells the story of a man from the Wayuu tribe in Colombia as he becomes more and more involved in drug trading to be able to afford the extravagant dowry he needs to marry the tribe’s matriarch daughter. Au revoir TIFF!

FOREIGN LANGUAGE ENTRIES AT THE OSCARS

WHAT WILL PEOPLE SAY has been submitted as Norway’s representative at the 91st Academy Awards. Deeply moving and stunningly shot by echo’s Nadim Carlsen this movie takes the audience onto an emotional roller coaster. Ali Abbasi’s BORDER, which was also shot by Nadim Carlsen is the Norwegian entry and Ciro Guerra and Cristina Gallego’s BIRDS OF PASSAGE, lensed by David Gallego, ADFC is the Columbian entry. We are also very proud to say that I AM NOT A WITCH has been submitted as this year’s UK entry, also shot by David Gallego, ADFC, with Costume Design by Holly Rebecca and Art Direction by Malin Lindholm. “A PRIVATE WAR”: ECHO FESTIVAL FOCUS

Academy Award nominee, Matthew Heineman’s latest work, A PRIVATE WAR, had it’s world premiere at TIFF and will premiere in the UK at the London Film Festival on 20th October. Based on true events, the biographical drama tells the chronicles of American-born British war reporter, Marie Colvin (played by Rosamund Pike), who has been driven for years by a persistent urge to bear witness and give voice to the voiceless. Look out for the incredible production design from echo’s Sophie Becher!
