THE PALE HORSE starts tonight at 9pm on BBC One! Directed by Leonora Lonsdale and cut by echo’s new client Eve Doherty, the 2 parter based on Agatha Christies novel, was written by Sarah Phelps and stars Rufus Sewel.

BRITISH ARROWS 2020 SHORTLIST ANNOUNCED!
We are very proud to say that echo’s Production Designer, Jon Henson, has received a well deserved British Arrows nomination for his work on the Sainsbury’s Christmas spot NICHOLAS THE SWEEP! The commercial has received 8 nominations in total, including nods in the Best Over 90 Seconds and Retailers categories!
Congratulations also go to our clients who worked on the following shortlisted ads: Costume Designer Holly Rebecca for her work on both KFC CHICKEN TOWN and Cadbury’s FENCE which have both received nominations in the Food + Non-Alcoholic Catergory as well as Best Over 30 Seconds; DoP Rachel Clark for her work on BBC NUMBER 10 which is nominated for Best Over 15 Seconds; DoP Edgar Dubrovskiy for his work on MALARIA NO MORE nominated for Most Innovative Use of Video; Hair + Make-Up Designer Kirstin Chalmers who designed PRIDE JUBILEE which Director Fred Rowson has received a New Director nomination for; and last but not least, Costume Designer, Jo Thompson, who designed Dept for Education TUESDAY which has received 5 nominations including Best Over 30 and Best Over 90 Seconds!
CALM WITH HORSES TRAILER!
The CALM WITH HORSES trailer dropped last week and has us very excited for the film’s release next month! Nick Rowland’s debut feature was nominated at London Film Festival last year and also screened at TIFF! Co-Edited by Andonis Trattos and with Hair + Make-Up Design by Emma Scott, you can see it in UK cinemas on the 13th March!
"BAGHDAD CENTRAL" AIRS TONIGHT ON CHANNEL FOUR!
The new Channel Four mini-series, BAGHDAD CENTRAL, airs tonight at 10pm! The show is directed by Alice Troughton and Ben A. Williams and is set in Iraq following the fall of Saddam Hussein. Episode 2 is cut by echo’s Editor Josh Mallalieu!

Everything crossed for ONLY YOU (pictured), with Production Design by Andy Drummond, which is nominated for Outstanding Debut; THE TRAP, cut by Eve Doherty, which is nominated for Best British Short Film and JUDY, designed by Kave Quinn, which recieved 3 nominations including Best Actress for Renée Zellweger!

THE AMAZON ALEXA SUPER BOWL AD HAS DROPPED!
The new AMAZON ALEXA commercial has been dropped! The ad will have it’s TV debut this Super Bowl Sunday in front of millions but was released early by Ellen Degeneres who stars in the spot. Look out for Hair + Make-Up design by the brilliant Jemma Carballo!

Dani Pearce’s BACKPEDAL is screening again at Sundance today! Pearce’s short film was one of IndieWire “Must See Shorts” at this year’s fest. The beautiful images are captured by echo’s DoP Christopher Miles. Go check it out!

ECHO FESTIVAL FOCUS: "HIS HOUSE"!
HIS HOUSE had it’s World Premiere last night at Sundance! Remi Weekes’ debut film, which features costumes design by Holly Rebecca and VFX Editing by Richard Ketteridge, follows a refugee couple from South Sudan and their struggle to adjust to their new life in an English town. We are excited that the film has already been picked up by Netflix!

Lee Isaac Chung’s MINARI screens at Sundance again today! Nominated in US Dramatic Feature Competition, and shot by echo’s DoP Lachlan Milne, ACS, the film has already been very well received at the festival.

Romola Garai’s AMULET opened at Sundance over the weekend to some great reviews! The feature debut from Garai is brilliantly cut by echo’s Alastair Reid. If you’re at the fest, you can still catch it until Saturday!

First weekend of Sundance is nearly done but still to look forward to tonight is the World Premiere of THE NEST! Sean Durkin’s latest film, starring Jude Law and Carrie Coon, features Hair + Make-Up Design by echo’s Emma Scott. We only wish we were in Utah to go see it!

Sundance is officially underway and Aneil Karia’s SURGE will have it’s world premiere on Sunday! Karia’s debut feature is nominated for the Grand Dury Prize in the World Cinema competition and was shot by regular collaborator DoP Stuart Bentley, BSC and designed by Production Designer Alexandra Toomey. The film stars Ben Whishaw, as we follow his character on a a tense and tightly wound thriller that unfolds over 24 hours…

BERLIN FILM FESTIVAL 2020 LINEUP SO FAR!
Berlin Film Festival have been announcing their 2020 lineup in waves, and while the full lineup is still to be announced, so far the following client projects will screen at the fest: Bassam Tariq’s MUGHAL MOWGLI (pictured) with Hair + Make-Up design by Bean Ellis and Additional Photography by Michael Paleodimos; H IS FOR HAPPINESS, shot by Bonnie Elliott, ACS; Aneil Karia’s SURGE, lensed by Stuart Bentley, BSC and with Production Design by Alexandra Toomey; HIGH GROUND will screen in the Special Programme section, shot by Andrew Commis, ACS; and finally included in Berlin Series will be Episodes 1 + 2 of STATELESS, shot by Bonnie Eliiott, ACS; and Episodes 1-5 of TRIGONOMETRY shot by Sean Price Williams and eps 1, 3 + 5 cut by Morten Højbjerg (further eps also cut be Editor Dan Roberts).
The full festival lineup should be announced before the end of the month and the fest runs from 20th Feb - 1st March 2020.
