The annual 30th Critic’s Choice Awards were held this weekend and we’re excited to see Netflix’s REBEL RIDGE won for ‘Best Movie Made For Television’!

Directed by Jeremy Saulnier with Cinematography by echo’s David Gallego, ADFC the action-thriller features a star-studded cast including Aaron Pierre, Don Johnson, and Anna Sophia Robb.

Independent have released their list for ‘The 50 greatest TV episodes of all time’!

From sitcoms to award winning drama’s, Independent have put together a list of the greatest TV episodes of all time.

Coming in at the second greatest television episode of all time is I May Destroy You – Episode 12: ‘Ego Death’ which was edited by echo’s John Dwelly, along with episode 6 in the series.

MARIA VON HAUSSWOLFF, DFF NOMINATED FOR 2025 GIRLS ON FILM AWARDS!

Echo Director of Photography, Maria von Hausswolff DFF has been nominated for Best Cinematography at the 2025 Girls On Film Awards for her work on JANET PLANET.

The directorial debut of Annie Baker, produced by A24 and BBC Films, is a coming-of-age drama with a cast headed by Julianne Nicholson and Zoe Ziegler.

THE 2025 CRITIC'S CIRCLE AWARDS WINNERS HAVE BEEN ANNOUNCED!

The 45th annual Critic’s Circle Awards were hosted last night and we’re glad to see echo client work within this year’s winners!

Marianne Jean-Baptiste won ‘Actress Of The Year’ for her work in HARD TRUTHS, directed by Mike Leigh with Hair + Make-Up Design by Nora Robertson!

Saoirse Ronan picked up ‘British/Irish Performer Of The Year’ for her recent body of work including THE OUTRUN with Production Design by Andy Drummond and Hair + Make Up Design by Kat Morgan.

Another winner of the night was BIRD directed by Andrea Arnold with Costume Design by Alex Bovaird! Nykiya Adams won ‘Young British/Irish Performer Of The Year’.

'SURVIVING EARTH' SET TO PREMIERE AT SXSW!

SURVIVING EARTH is set to have its world premiere at SXSW this March!

Directed by Thea Gajic with Production Design by echo’s Elena Muntoni and Costume Design by echo’s Oliver Cronk.

Produced by My Accomplice + Sona Films, the film stars Slavko Sobin, Olive Gray, and Stuart Martin,

Based on a true story, the film follows Vlad, a gifted harmonica player who fled the Yugoslav conflict in the 1990s and built a new life in Bristol as a counsellor. Bringing his love for Balkan music to the city, he forms a band with colleagues, hoping to make a mark on the local scene. But as their success grows, the traumas of Vlad’s past resurface, threatening the stability of the life he has built.

SXSW will commence on March 7th - 15th!

HARD TRUTHS is out in UK cinemas today!

Directed by Mike Leigh with Hair + Make-Up Design by Nora Robertson, the comedy-drama features BIFA and BAFTA winner Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Bryony Miller and Sophia Brown.

The film is a collaborative production by The Mediapro Studio and Thin Man Films, in partnership with Film4 and Creativity Media.

THE 2025 GLASGOW FILM FESTIVAL PROGRAMME IS HERE!

The 2025 Glasgow Film Festival programme has arrived, and we’re excited to celebrate the work of echo clients featured this year!

John Maclean’s survival thriller TORNADO, featuring echo’s Costume Designer Kirsty Halliday and Hair + Make-up Designer, Kat Morgan, will have its world premiere as part of the ‘Opening Gala’.

Laura Carreira’s debut film ON FALLING will have its Scottish premiere at the festival, with contributions from echo Production Designer Andy Drummond and Hair + Make-Up artist Kat Morgan.

THE EXTRAORDINARY MISS FLOWER directed by Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard, will also have its Scottish premiere, with Costume Design by echo’s Susie Coulthard.

We’re excited to see several films featuring echo client work featured at 2025 Sundance Film Festival opening this week!

BUBBLE AND SQUEAK (pictured) written and directed by Evan Twohy will have its world premiere within the ‘US Dramatic Competition’.

Featuring Costume Design by Frank Gallacher, the romantic road comedy stars Himesh Patel, Sarah Goldberg, Steven Yeun, Dave Franco, and Matt Berry.

Bryn Chainey’s debut RABBIT TRAP will also premiere at the festival within the ‘Midnight’ category.

The psychological horror stars Dev Patel and Rosy McEwen, with Editing by Sam Sneade and Hair + Make-Up Design by Natasha Lawes.

As part of Sundance’s ‘Premiere’ category is THE BALLAD OF WALLIS ISLAND directed by James Griffiths.

Starring Carey Mulligan, Tom Basden and Tim Key with Production Design by Alexandra Toomey.

THE THINGS YOU KILL, written, directed and produced by Alireza Khatami will be premiering within the ‘World Dramatic Competition’. With Cinematography by Bartosz Swiniarski and a cast featuring Ekin Koç, Erkan Kolçak Köstendil, Hazar Ergüçlü, Ercan Kesal.

The film festival is taking place in Utah from January 23rd 2025 to February 2nd 2025!

DREAMERS SET TO PREMIERE AT BERLINALE THIS YEAR!

Dreamers is set to premiere at Berlinale this year!

Directed by Joy Gharoro-Akpojotor and edited by echo’s Arttu Salmi. The film is produced by BBC Film & Quiddity Films, and stars Ann Akinjirin, Diana Yekinni, and Aiysha Hart.

The film follows Isio, A woman who is caught working without papers, trapped inside Hatchworth removal centre, where she learns that finding love, friendship, and freedom sometimes means doing the wrong things.

Berlinale screening times for DREAMERS will be released on February 4th.
